Mary's Promenade on the Peninsula 5K Results

So I got the results back (actually really fast from the timing company).  I did very well.  Almost top 25% overall.  Imagine what I could have done if I were feeling well?!

Mary's Promenade on the Peninsula 5K

So I ran this race with nearly no prep runs and stuck with a cold for a week.  I ended up running well.  The hill that I thought would kill me didn't.  The last stretch through the mall was at a full sprint.  A guy passed me on my left and I thought I could catch up.  He didn't want me too.  So we had a dash to the finish.  I ended up passing the finish line first!  Woohoo!

Palos Verdes 5K Results

So I got my results for the race and they are good. Not quite as good as last year but still excellent considering my poor times on my previous races this year.

Palos Verdes 5K

So I was thinking I was going to struggle on this run since my grandma's memorial service was the evening before.  I ran the race well despite dealing with a horrible shuttle service.  I got to the pickup point 45 minutes before the race start time.  When I finally got off the bus, I had only 10 minutes to run to the registration area and pick up my bib and timing chip.  Yikes!  Then when I left, the race was still going on so no traffic was going across the street.  I skipped the shuttle, hiked up the hill and my wife picked me up on the side of Hawthorne!  Crazy.

Ridgecrest 5K* Results

So I got my results and it is just what I figured.  My full 5K time would have been around 34-45 minutes which is what my training times have been due to the hills.  Since this race was very hilly it fit right into my training times.

Ridgecrest 5K*

So I ran in my March race that was postponed today.  It was a fundraiser for the intermediate school near my house.  Essentially the large portion of the runners were 12-14 years old.  Very interesting running with so many kids.  The course was very hilly at the South Coast Botanical Gardens which made my time slower.  However, the course turned out to be .2 miles short of 5 km.  That is why I am putting an asterisk next to the race.  Still fun.

A Run Through Redlands 5K Results

So I ended up being slower than my time last year.  I was hoping to improve but I essentially stayed the same.  Oh well.  On to the next race on Sunday!  Train, train, train...

A Run Through Redlands 5K

So I ran this race last year.  I have been very sick for the past week and a half and I have not been able to train as good as I could.  I got to run with my good friend, Ohm, who ended up finishing better than I did.  I like the race but I know I could have done better.

Redondo Beach Super Bowl 5K results

So I got my results in for the Redondo Beach Super Bowl 5K.  They are not great but pretty good considering my less the stellar training.  Got to love that my name is spelled wrong!

Redondo Beach Super Bowl 5K

So I got my first race of 2011 under my belt.  It wasn't pretty but I did fine.  My training for the last couple of months has been horrible.  I haven't been able to get in too many runs since I have been so busy at work and at home.  Hopefully, I can get back into the swing of things and get some better times in.

World Run Day 5K Photo

So I finally got around to uploading the picture my wife took after my run on World Run Day.  My running bib that I printed out ripped 5 minutes into the run.  Oh well...

World Run Day 5K Results

So I did this run by myself and therefore there aren't official results.  So here is a screenshot of my Nike+ results.  30:10.  Not too bad but I feel I am slowing down.  Ugh.

World Run Day 5K

So I signed up for the World Run Day because I want to try to have a race every month.  I thought this one was interesting since it is a world event yet it is local since you create your own race.  I figured I would do my normal Crest Run near my house.  It was a gorgeous day but since I hadn't run this route in a couple of months (I have been running near my office) I was slow up the hill and didn't get a great time.  I also underestimated the distance when I reached Highridge Park and ended up having to run past my house on the way home to reach the full 5K.  Oh well.

Promenade on the Peninsula 5K Photo

So I can't believe that I finally got the photos from this race.  Almost a whole month after the race.  Not the best photo but there have been worse.  I hope I can get my time better for the next race...

Promenade on the Peninsula 5K Results

So I got the official time for the Promenade on the Peninsula 5K race I did on Sunday - 30:34.  Not too bad considering there was a lot of uphill.  I was hoping to under 30 minutes but alas the hill won.  I did finish in the top 25% of runners, top 50% in my division and top 40% of all men.  I have come across some of the reviews and people were saying that the course may have been long: 3.3 miles instead of 3.1.  If that is so, then my time isn't too bad.

Promenade on the Peninsula 5K

So I ran in another race and this one was right in my backyard.  Nice and close at the local mall with a couple of loops around.  It was tough at times since the streets are downhill which means you have to come back up it.  I really wanted to walk on my second loop of uphill but I forced myself to keep running (granted it was much slower running.)  I updated my new Nike+ GPS app last night and I am glad I did.  They have a new feature that posts that I am running on facebook.  Then if someone comments on the post while I am running, I get cheering and cow bells while my music is playing.  Really cool!  I think I did fine, just over 30 minutes which isn't too bad with all the hill running.  Still I wish I was under the 30 minutes.  Oh well.  Next year's goal!

Disneyland Fabulous 5k Results

So I did not get any official results from the Disneyland 5k.  I am simply going off my time from my Nike+ iPhone app.  My worst time yet but it is only due to the lack of chip timing and crappiness of the course.  This will definitely not be in my list of races for next year.  Now to find another run for September 2011...

Disneyland Fabulous 5K Photo

So I got the photos from the race and I am still waiting on the results.  I actually don't think that results are posted for the 5K since it is more of a fun run rather than an actual race.  We will see.  Anyways, this was the best photo of the bunch as most were too scary to post.
